Slow-Dissolving Stabilised Chlorine Tablets 200 g – 5 kg
B-Care EUR-O-TABS slow chlorine tablets, supplied in a 5 kg pack of 200 g tablets, are designed for the regular disinfection of swimming pool water.
Made with symclosene (trichloroisocyanuric acid), these stabilised chlorine tablets dissolve gradually, helping maintain the chlorine level needed for ongoing disinfection and limiting algae growth.
The 5 kg pack provides a supply of 200 g tablets for routine pool maintenance.
Why choose these slow chlorine tablets?
Slow chlorine is intended for regular pool disinfection. Unlike shock chlorine, which rapidly increases disinfectant levels when corrective treatment is needed, slow-dissolving tablets release chlorine progressively into the water.
The EUR-O-TABS tablets offer several practical features:
-
Slow dissolution to provide a gradual chlorine release.
-
200 g tablet size, with manufacturer instructions for pools containing more than 20 m³ of water.
-
5 kg pack for keeping multiple tablets available for maintenance.
-
Compatibility with all filtration systems, including cartridge filters, as stated by the manufacturer.
If you prefer a smaller pack, see our 200 g slow chlorine tablets – 1 kg.
For situations requiring a rapid increase in disinfectant levels rather than routine maintenance, explore our shock chlorine for swimming pools.
Dosage and water parameters
How much slow chlorine should you use?
According to the manufacturer's label, the specified dosage is one 200 g tablet for a swimming pool containing more than 20 m³ of water, placed in the skimmer or a floating dispenser.
This instruction should not be converted into an assumed proportional dosage for every pool volume.
Check the following water parameters:
| Parameter | Manufacturer's instructions |
|---|---|
| Water pH | 7.0–7.4 |
| Free chlorine | 1.5–3 mg/L |
| Filtration time | Number of hours equal to half the water temperature in °C |
Filtration example: at a water temperature of 26°C, the label specifies 13 hours of filtration.
The manufacturer does not specify a universal tablet replacement interval. Monitor the remaining tablet and water quality, especially free chlorine, before deciding when further treatment is needed.
How to use the chlorine tablets
-
Check and adjust the pH to between 7.0 and 7.4.
-
Test free chlorine to assess your pool's current disinfection requirements.
-
Place one 200 g tablet in the skimmer or a floating dispenser, following the labelled dosage instructions.
-
Adjust filtration time according to the water temperature and the manufacturer's guidance.
-
Remove the floating dispenser while swimming, if that is your chosen application method.
-
Recheck the water parameters and follow the iopool app's treatment recommendations when deciding whether another tablet is required.
Never allow a tablet to come into direct contact with the pool liner.
Because this is stabilised chlorine, it is also important to monitor cyanuric acid (CYA) over time. Learn more about chlorine tablets and pool stabiliser levels.

Safety precautions and storage
DANGER — Handle this biocidal product with care.
This product may intensify fire, is harmful if swallowed, causes serious eye irritation, may irritate the respiratory tract and is very toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects.
Follow these safety precautions:
-
Never mix with other chemicals. Contact with acids can release toxic gases, including chlorine.
-
Do not use in combination with bromine or PHMB-based treatment products.
-
Never introduce two different chemicals into the same skimmer or treatment system at the same time.
-
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection when handling the product.
-
Keep in its original container, locked away, in a dry, ventilated area at 5–25°C, away from heat and combustible materials.
-
Keep out of children's reach and prevent release into the environment.
In case of eye contact, rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Seek medical advice if irritation persists.
Dispose of the product and packaging through an approved waste disposal facility in accordance with local regulations.
Always read the complete product label and follow its instructions before use.
Manage pool maintenance with iopool
The iopool app helps you monitor your pool and provides recommendations on when water treatment may be required.
When used with the EcO Start connected water analyser, it uses parameters including pH, ORP (oxidation-reduction potential) and water temperature to support personalised maintenance recommendations.
ORP is not a direct measurement of free chlorine. Continue testing free chlorine and stabiliser levels independently when maintaining your pool.
Frequently asked questions
Can these 200 g chlorine tablets be used in a spa?
The supplied label provides instructions for swimming pools containing more than 20 m³ of water. It does not specify spa use. Choose a treatment and dosage explicitly suitable for your installation.
How often should I replace a chlorine tablet?
The manufacturer does not provide a fixed replacement interval. Check the pool's free chlorine level, monitor the tablet and follow the iopool app's maintenance recommendations.
Can I use these tablets with a cartridge filter?
Yes. The manufacturer's label states that the product is compatible with filtration systems including cartridge filters. Always follow the instructions for your pool equipment.
Can I place a tablet directly in the pool?
The labelled application methods are a skimmer or floating dispenser. Do not place the tablet directly against the pool liner, as discolouration may occur.
