Pool pH Increaser Powder – 5 kg

iopool Pool pH Increaser Powder – 5 kg is a sodium carbonate-based treatment designed to raise the pH of swimming pool water when it is too low.

Maintaining balanced pH levels helps protect pool equipment, supports the effectiveness of disinfectants and contributes to a more comfortable swimming experience.

Supplied in a 5 kg bucket, this powder provides a convenient reserve for pH adjustments whenever your pool water requires treatment.

What is pool pH increaser used for?

Pool pH increaser corrects excessively acidic swimming pool water by raising its pH.

When the pH is too low, pool water may become aggressive towards certain components and uncomfortable for swimmers.

This product is specifically intended to increase pH. It does not replace a disinfectant or a treatment designed to adjust total alkalinity (TA).

When should you use pH increaser?

Use pH increaser when a reliable water test shows that the pH is below the desired range.

The product label specifies a pH adjustment range of 7.0 to 7.4.

If the pH is below 6.8, the manufacturer recommends increasing it gradually over several days rather than making a single large adjustment.

For more information, read our guide to high and low swimming pool pH.

Pool pH increaser dosage

How much pH increaser should you add to 10 m³ of water?

According to the product label, 100 g of pH increaser per 10 m³ of water raises the pH by approximately 0.1 units.

This is a reference dosage. The actual increase depends on the initial pH and the chemical balance of your pool water.

Always test the water before treatment and check the pH again afterwards. Only repeat the adjustment if another measurement confirms that it is necessary.

How to use pool pH increaser powder

  1. Measure your pool's pH with a suitable water testing device.

  2. Determine the required quantity based on the pool volume, the measured pH and the label instructions.

  3. Turn on your pool filtration system.

  4. Dissolve the powder in a container of hot water. Always add the product to the water, never water to the product.

  5. Pour the prepared solution along the pool walls, distributing it as evenly as possible. Avoid concentrated contact with pool surfaces.

  6. Check the pH again later and repeat the adjustment only if necessary.

For pH readings below 6.8, spread the correction over several days as instructed on the label.

Choosing between the 1 kg and 5 kg formats

The 5 kg bucket is suitable for pool owners who prefer to keep a larger supply of pH increaser available for future adjustments.

If you need a smaller pack, discover our Pool pH Increaser Powder – 1 kg.

Choose the format according to your maintenance needs and preferred pack size, rather than assuming that each format is restricted to a particular pool volume.

The iopool app helps you follow your water parameters and receive maintenance recommendations based on your pool's needs.

With EcO Start, the iopool connected pool water analyzer, you can automatically monitor pH, ORP and water temperature.

App recommendations complement the manufacturer's instructions and do not replace them.

Frequently asked questions

Is this pH increaser compatible with different pool treatments?

According to the label, it is compatible with all types of swimming pool treatment. However, compatibility does not mean that different chemical products can be mixed directly.

Does pH increaser also increase total alkalinity?

The product is intended to raise pH. Total alkalinity is a different water parameter that affects pH stability and may require a specific treatment.

How often should pH increaser be added?

There is no fixed weekly schedule. Add the product when water measurements indicate that pH correction is required, following the appropriate treatment recommendations.

Should you use pH increaser if your pool pH is too high?

No. This product raises pH. If your pool pH is already too high, a suitable pH decreaser may be required after checking the water balance.
