pH Increaser Powder – 1 kg

iopool pH+ Pool Increaser Powder – 1 kg is a sodium carbonate-based treatment designed to raise the pH of swimming pool water when it is too low.

By correcting low pH levels, it helps maintain balanced pool water and suitable conditions for effective disinfection. The 1 kg container provides a convenient quantity for adjustments based on actual water measurements.

Why use pH+ in your pool?

Low pH makes pool water more acidic. This can contribute to equipment deterioration and discomfort for swimmers.

pH+ raises the pH when testing shows that a correction is required. It is intended for measured adjustments rather than automatic daily treatment.

For more information, read our guide to high and low pool pH.

pH+ powder dosage

How much pH+ should you add to your swimming pool?

According to the product label, 100 g of pH+ per 10 m³ of water is intended to increase pH by approximately 0.1 units.

The label also specifies a pH range of 7.0 to 7.4. The actual response depends on the initial pH and the water balance.

Always measure the pH before treatment and check it again afterwards.

If the pH is below 6.8, the label recommends increasing it gradually over several days.

Directions for use

  1. Measure your pool's pH using a suitable water testing device.

  2. Determine the required quantity based on your pool volume and the label instructions.

  3. Switch on your pool filtration system.

  4. Dissolve the pH+ powder in a container of warm water. Always add the product to water, never water to the product.

  5. Carefully pour the prepared solution along the pool walls, distributing it as evenly as possible while avoiding concentrated contact with the pool lining.

  6. Check the pH afterwards and repeat the correction only if necessary.

Always follow the full instructions on the original packaging.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between pH+ and pH-?

pH+ raises the pH of swimming pool water when it is too low. pH- lowers the pH when it is too high. Always test the water before choosing the appropriate treatment.

Is pH+ the same as an alkalinity increaser?

No. pH+ is primarily intended to increase pH. An alkalinity corrector such as ALKA+ targets total alkalinity (TA), which helps stabilize pH.

Should pH+ be added every day?

No fixed daily schedule is required. Use it when water testing indicates that the pH needs to be increased, following the appropriate treatment recommendations.

What is the difference between the 1 kg and 5 kg formats?

The main commercial difference is the quantity supplied. The 1 kg container offers a smaller quantity, while the 5 kg format provides a larger reserve of pool pH treatment.

Can this product be used in a spa?

The supplied label provides instructions for swimming pools but does not specify spa use. Spa compatibility should be confirmed before using the product.
